Being at home sounds like a dream but if you're anything like me after 3 days of doing nothing I'm completely over it. There's only so much social media I can take in one day so I came up with a list of things you can do to stay somewhat sane.
- Get in the kitchen!
You have nothing but time so you might as well cook an elaborate meal. Breakfast is my favorite meal so I always go all out. Catch me in the kitchen whippin up strawberry pancakes, omelets, quiche, and anything else I can teach myself. Maybe try something different and do a vegetarian meal or an Indian dish! It could be fun to challenge the people in your home and vote on who cooked the best meal. Maybe you can get romantic and make a fancy coursed meal for your family. Have everyone dress up like you're going to a 5 star restaurant. There's even a cool app (THAT'S FREE) where you input all the ingredients you have in your fridge and it tells you what meals you could possibly make! The app is called Supercook and it is so easy to navigate. Just speak into the microphone and list off all of the ingredients you have in your fridge and the app will curate different recipes for you.
- Organize ya closet
We're obviously skipping Spring and going straight into Summer so get rid of all those clothes! Denim shorts from highschool? It's time to let them go. Halloween costumes, club dresses you're never going to wear again, shoes that don't even fit anymore- let em go sis. This is the perfect time to start fresh and brand new. If you're feeling frisky why not post your clothes on Poshmark, LetGo, Facebook marketplace, or maybe create an Instagram page to sell your clothes. You can always donate them as well. Given the impending timeline, I am sure there are people out there who will need clothes once this virus is gone.
- Exercise
Come out of quarantine with a phat ass! Youtube and Instagram are my friends! Every at-home exercise you could ever imagine is on both of these platforms. Yoga on youtube is the easiest thing to find and do. Take an hour to focus solely on yourself without any distractions!
- Journal
I've been journaling more often now that I am stuck at home. Expressing my emotions/confusion during this time has helped me. I've even started writing down my dreams to interpret them later.
- Do drugs
You're at home...why not. Be safe and we're not responsible if you take our advice.
- Read a book
When was the last time you read a book? I haven't read in almost 4 months. I recently discovered that theres an app on our iPhones called Books and they have free books on there. Maybe everyone already knew that but thought I would throw it out there.
- Beauty
Once again Youtube is the holy mecca for all things beauty. You can learn how to do your makeup, lay a lacefront, do some braids, etc. You can't go anywhere so you don't have to worry about looking stupid.
- Do absolutely nothing
This is the best option. Take a bath, get drunk, lay on the couch, binge shows (check out our other post about bingeworthy shows), meditate, take 7 naps, masturbate, etc. For the first time in a long time we finally have a break. Take this time and relax.
